Sunday at the Jail

Sunday was my first time to officially visit the jail.  No, it wasn't for some horribly thing I did!  It was to witness to the inmates.....It is a wonderful program that the brothers have tried for years to get established and it's finally gaining momentum.  You may not think there would be anything funny about witnessing in prison.....Well here are some highlights.....

Our work started with a ‘round table’ discussion with 4 inmates, all of them had some exposure to the truth previously!  One of them said his ENTIRE family are Witnesses. Some of them are ‘regulars’ to the study each week. We are systematically studying the “Good News” brochure.  Four attend it regularly.

Funniest story #1:
A brother was trying to illustrate Jer. 10:23 by asking the inmates what it means when something ‘belongs’ to you….So he asked, “If I take Joe's bible from him, whose Bible is it?"  The answer we got: “It’s yours now - YOU TOOK IT!”
LOL --- to inmates “possession” has a bit different meaning!

Funny story #2:

After visiting with the men, we were able to visit the women in the Women's section. Two women came into the room and a nice discussion ensued......We were trying to illustrate the point about the propriety of using Jehovah’s name, not calling him Jesus, or Lord, or anything else…..So the brother asked one of the woman, whose name is Sandy, “How would you like it if I called you by a different name every time I saw you?”  She said “That would be great!  I’ve been trying to go by different names for years”!!!!  LOL   Just too funny.

I guess we might have to figure out how to reword our questions.....

Introduction

Hello All.

Those that know me well know that I'm not much of a writer, but I do LOVE to tell stories.  Usually funny stories....And I have MANY to tell!

Somehow strange things have always happened to me. They seem to follow me wherever I go.....So I am finally creating this blog so that I can keep track of these stories and unusual happenings and share them with my friends.  I really hope you enjoy it.  Please feel free to make comments on my postings if you wish, but remember these postings are being read by others.

The stories will not be in any particular order, especially since my memory is a bit defective. I may not post often, but I hope you all enjoy "a day in the life of JoAnn Zymler".
